Empowering companies to invest in, grow, and optimally utilize
Health Economics & Outcomes Research and Market Access
The mission of HEOR Go is to help transform and grow businesses by empowering (1) biotech/small to midsize pharmaceutical companies, medical communications agencies, and healthcare investors to develop strong internal Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Market Access capabilities and (2) healthcare investors to invest more prudently and successfully in new healthcare products, services, and technologies by applying the principles of HEOR and Market Access.
Without high-quality HEOR and Market Access strategies, plans, data, and thinking, patients will likely experience suboptimal access to innovative medicines and vaccines and companies will face lost revenues and profits. The "4th Hurdle" is a huge challenge. You don't have time to experiment and get it wrong. HEOR Go will help you get it right from the word "go!"
At HEOR Go, I talk with you to understand your organization's needs and goals. Whether you're a biotech/small to midsize pharmaceutical company, a medical communications agency, or a healthcare investor, I don't give you prepackaged solutions. Everything I do for you is 100% customized and made-to-order!
My more than 3 decades of HEOR and Market Access experience have taught me that organizations are going to need a carefully planned balance of in-house and outsourced expertise. There is no single universal ratio of the two that applies to all HEOR/Market Access functions -- the balance will be unique to your company and will actually vary over time. And to be clear, in order to be successful and get your products covered/reimbursed, you absolutely need strong internal capabilities, comprising managerial, methodological, and strategic competence. In addition, to work efficiently and productively with agencies, you need internal expertise. That being said, do you need 1 person? 3 people? 5? 10? 20? 50? Individuals with what types of backgrounds and training? Only headquarters staff or do you also need country and/or regional affiliates? How many? What types of projects should be done internally vs. outsourced? And when should they be done? If you don’t know the answers to these questions, I do and I can help you!
HEOR Go carries out customized, detailed assessments and provides recommendations and insights for HEOR and Market Access department structure, growth (via merger and acquisition as well as organic growth), leadership, personnel, outsourcing needs, and research deliverables based on:
I can help you with these and other opportunities and challenges you should be considering when you build and grow out HEOR and Market Access capabilities!
For healthcare investors, you should be thinking about what the perceived value of an asset will be by payers and other stakeholders including patients, providers, and policy makers. Commercial success hinges on the concepts of value and affordability. Have you considered:

Hi, I'm Larry Radican, founder and CEO of HEOR Go! After graduating from Colby College in 1987 with a BA in Economics, I initially started my career as a writer doing human interest stories for newspapers in New Jersey! Then, one day in 1989, I got called to do a story at a local hospital -- Dover General Hospital & Medical Center -- for a patient who was celebrating her 100th birthday! The hospital liked my story so much that they offered me a job in the Communications department and I took it! While working at the hospital I obtained my MPH degree at the Rutgers University School of Public Health and during the masters program I was introduced to the exciting field of Health Economics! I next took a job at a healthcare consultancy called Emron doing Health Economics in 1992. It was that job that got me a position at Merck doing HEOR and Market Access in 1996! I did my PhD in Epidemiology at Rutgers while working at Merck. After 22 years at Merck I was offered an opportunity at OPEN Health in 2018 to work with a private equity firm to invest in HEOR and support merger and acquisition activities, and to start an HEOR function! After 7 wonderful years at OPEN Health, I decided to set out on my own! By collaborating with healthcare business professionals, investors, and scientific experts like you -- and through leveraging HEOR and Market Access -- I am confident we can make a difference in the lives of patients around the world!
